這不是唯一一張向Dead Can Dance致敬的專輯，但這套雙CD卻可能是其中最具野心的嘗試：共有20多個樂隊近百人參與了這張專輯的創作，他們的音樂背景大多屬於goth/darkwave/black metal流派，因此這裡並不試圖對DCD的音樂影響力的全貌做出概括，而側重其對於歌特/陰暗樂派的影響和啟示。
敬禮的樂隊包括很多這一樂派中的重要團體：如受中世紀音樂影響的Arcana和來自義大利的Ataraxia、歌特樂隊Faith and the Muse——其核心人物之一William Faith是前Christian Death（‘美國歌特搖滾奠基之父’）成員，Black Tape for a Blue Girl——美國最早、最具影響力的darkwave廠牌之一Projekt的創始者；其中黑/哥特金屬樂隊包括：The Gathering、Trail of Tears、Ulver、Darkwell和前Empyrium成員Noekk，前Cradle of Filth的女歌手Sarah Jezebel Deva和貝斯手的新樂隊Imperial Black等，甚至還包括與DCD同時代的噪音試驗先鋒Swans的女歌手Jarboe。
