amorphis是一支來自芬蘭的著名death metal樂隊，他們早期的風格帶有
明顯的北歐death metal的色彩，略帶black metal味道的吉他音色，快速
的吉他riffs，狂暴的鼓擊，都顯示出樂隊與emtombed等老牌北歐death
metal樂隊一脈相傳的特點，不過經過一段時間的發展，他們大膽地進行了
變革，屏棄了追求快速粗暴的傳統，結合北歐民謠和doom metal的特點，
創立了一種旋律與力量緊密聯繫的嶄新風格，從而確立了amorphis在x-
metal界獨樹一幟的地位。
1994年發行的專輯《tales from the thousand lakes》，是一部經典作
品，也是death metal史上最佳唱片之一。樂隊加入了一位鍵盤手，而且鍵
盤在專輯中起了相當大的作用。作品取材自北歐神話，音樂風格也圍繞著
這個主題展開，吉他與鍵盤交相呼應不斷爆發出優美的旋律，速度雖然慢
