Ashfield Station

Ashfield railway station is a station located on the Inner West line of the CityRail network. It is located in the Sydney suburb of Ashfield and was opened in 1855 as part of the original Sydney to Parramatta railway line. It features five platforms (two city bound, two outward bound, and one used as a turnback to the city) and is currently serviced by the South Line, the Inner West Line, and up until 2001, the Western Line.
The station has Easy Access facilities.
The station can be accessed via Brown Street (at the Hercules Street intersection) or via Station Street.
There is semi-secure cycle parking provided with racks available on both the northern and southern sides of the station. There is access to a number of cycle friendly routes to both the harbour and the city and to the south and west.

Platforms/Service

Platform 1:
Not currently in use - used only by trains during trackwork or in emergencies. Until the September 4, 2005 timetable most South Line trains stopped on this platform.
Platform 2:

Platform 3:
Inner West Line - all stations services to Central and the City Circle (clockwise).
South Line - limited stops services to Central and the City Circle (clockwise).
Platform 4:
Inner West Line - terminating services; all stations services to Central and the City Circle (clockwise).
Platform 5:
Inner West Line - all stations services to Lidcombe and Liverpool (Lidcombe trains then proceeding via the Bankstown Line.)
South Line - limited stops services to Glenfield and Campbelltown.

Bus Services

Sydney Buses runs seven routes via Ashfield station:
Route 409 - Between Burwood and Hurlstone Park.
Route 411 - Weekdays(Monday to Friday) daytime services - to Roselands.
Route 462 - to Mortlake.
Route 464 - to Mortlake.
Route 466 - to Cabarita Wharf.
Route 471 - Between Circular Quay and Five Dock.
Route 472 - Between Circular Quay and Five Dock.
NightRide runs two routes via Ashfield station:
Route N50 - Between Liverpool and City(Town Hall).
Route N60 - Between Fairfield station and City(Town Hall).
