組合名，由現年24歲的姐姐Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka（1989年3月25日出生）與現年22歲的妹妹Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka"（1991年4月10日出生）所組成的Aly&AJ。

兩人從小就在教堂的唱詩班中訓練歌唱技巧。Aly在六歲始學鋼琴彈奏，13歲時兼著把玩吉他，同時展開演戲生涯，AJ同樣會吉他與鋼琴外，更是模特兒與演員。從迪士尼頻道出身的Aly&AJ，演過多出戲劇以及演唱多支單曲出現在劇集當中，雖然年紀輕輕，但早已身經百戰朝著全方位藝人闊步邁進。兩人在2005年熱播影片《冰雪公主》中演唱主題曲no one，並在此後發行了專輯into the rush。此外，他們還為《少年魔法師》這部電視劇演唱了主題曲do you believe in magic。二人組合現已更名為78violet，第三張專輯將於2013年發行。
