作者簡介

南京大學校聘資深教授、博士生導師、中華民國史研究中心主任、南京大屠殺史研究所所長。 主要研究方向為中華民國史、中國抗日戰爭史。曾赴十餘個國家和地區出席國際會議和講學。 出版過《中華民國史》等著作十餘部，主編《南京大屠殺史料集》72卷、《南京大屠殺全史》（三卷）、《中華民國專題史》（18卷）。獲國務院政府特殊津貼、江蘇省社會科學先進工作者、南京十大文化名人。

西方一直缺少客觀理性介紹日本軍國主義製造南京大屠殺事件的史學著作，故南京大學出版社將《南京大屠殺史》（中文版）作為中國首個國家公祭日全民讀本出版，並著手將其翻譯為英文，A History of the Nanjing Massacare，對日軍在南京的製造的南京大屠殺進行了全面、理性、客觀的論述，揭示了歷史的真相，有力地駁斥了日本右翼否定南京大屠殺史實的謬論。
