劇情簡介
傑森·謝潑德（弗蘭奇·莫尼茲飾）是個14歲的中學生，他聰明伶俐，學習勤奮。一天傑森突然發現自己的課堂作業居然被好萊塢製片人馬提·沃爾夫盜用並根據它拍成了一部賣座大片《超級大騙子》，於是傑森和好朋友凱麗來到洛杉磯準備找馬提理論一番，為自己討個說法。

Two friends are about to cut one Hollywood big shot down to size。美版《大謊言家》，故事情節荒誕曲折。 一名聰明機靈的 14歲的中學生，但偏偏謊話連篇，由於一次謊言穿幫，不得不重新將老師布置的英文寫作在6個小時內完成。然而在奇思妙想之後，傑森·謝潑德發現自己的課堂作業在上學的路上丟了。更是離奇的，那片頗具幻想色彩的作文居然被碰巧車載傑森的好萊塢製片人馬提·沃爾夫盜用，並根據它拍成了一部賣座大片《BIG FAT LIAR》，傑森在去欣賞這一巨作的時候，發現這部片子竟然和自己的作文一摸一樣。回到家中他告訴他的父母這一事實，然而父母因為他以往的惡作劇，都已經不再信任他。苦惱的傑森，異想天開的想找到馬提證明自己這次並沒有說謊，以換回父母重新對自己的信任。
於是趁著暑假英語補習俱樂部的空擋，傑森和好朋友凱麗來到洛杉磯好萊塢片場尋找馬提。身為好萊塢最有權利的製片人之一，惡名在外的馬提當然不是善主，傑森的作文給了他足夠的靈感和榮譽，一旦被世人知道這部片子並不是自己所創作，功名利祿便全完了。於是，馬提惡意的將作文燒掉並將傑森趕走。這惹惱了傑森，聰明的傑森剛開始還頗具孩子的信任，認為惡作劇後馬提就會妥協退讓，可馬提為人不善，根本沒有一星半點的澄清事實的意思。傑森大大失望幾乎要放棄整個計畫。就在這個時候，經常受馬提壓抑的片場工作人員，紛紛義舉，傑森帶領大家經過一連串精彩的鬥智加上上帝的保佑，終於讓這位猖狂的惡人、謊言家，在近乎發狂的自信下，喊出他剽竊了傑森的作文。而此時，六個機位都正對著他們的表演做實況轉播，天下人都知道了……最後，傑森當然贏得了父母的信任。結局不可避免地再次出現歐式的感人說教。“謊話不可取”。
片中惡整馬提的三個計畫方案，設計的非常經典。在最後一場追逐中，利用片場的不同戲劇空間，讓人過了眼癮。其中還巧妙的利用了一個西部牛仔對峙的意境。甚是搞笑。唯一美中不足的是對傑森的作文拍攝的經典環節沒有選好。對說明該片到底為什麼會如此之火，不具說服力。
