ProjectFolio is a productivity tool for tracking lots of different projects with competing deadlines and overlapping resource requirements. It’s built around the idea that the biggest challenge of managing multiple concurrent projects is remembering all of the details of each project and being able to switch context quickly as you jump from project to project throughout the day. It also gives you a simple and highly visible way to track all of the tasks associated with a project and their due dates or deadlines. It’s “hot list” view allows you to see all of the tasks across all of your projects that are due sorted by due date. FEATURES: PROJECTS: Tracks time spent on each project with the ability to bill time spent on each project by day, week or month. The list of projects is searchable. Plus there are preset views for your projects that allow you to quickly focus on those needing the most attention. When you enter a due date for the project and an estimate of how many hours it will take to complete, the app will tell you if you can finish the project by the due date in context of all of your other active projects. TASKS: You can create an infinite number of sub-tasks. All tasks are presented in the same view. You can expand and collapse the sub-tasks so you can focus on what you want to focus on. You can clone tasks from one project to another. When a due date is set for a task, it will appear on the task “hot list”. As the due date approaches, the task will migrate up the list. Late tasks are marked so you can easily focus on them. EXPENSES: You can take photos of receipts for our expenses. You can email these expenses to you or your client with the receipts as JPEG attachments. Track milage. Using the location features of the iPad, once you tell it where “home” is, it will compute milage to your current location with the click of a button. It then summarizes that information for you when you submit an expense report from the app. The expense report also show how much of your budget remains. TIME TRACKING: It tracks the time you spend on a project. Whenever a project is active, the timer runs for that project. This data is also used to help compute your ability to finish the project by the set deadline. You can change the start and stop time of a billing event. You can also transfer time spent from one project to another. A time summary form allows you to see at a glance how much time is set aside for the project, how much time you’ve billed for the project and how much un-billed time you’ve spent on the project.
