研究方向:主要的研究方向在於運用數學和大規模科學計算的方法去模擬、數值仿真、分析神經生物學中神經元網路的動力學特性,通過數學分析了解哺乳動物皮層的生物功能是如何在神經元網路各組分之間的相互作用中產生的。在神經生物學領域中最有意義的貢獻是揭示了神經元網路動力學和網路結構之間的可能聯繫,而此聯繫已有神經生理學上的實驗證據。並且通過模擬哺乳動物視皮層的大規模神經元網路,利用數學方法找到了一個可能的分岔結構確定了一個視皮層動力學上的運行點,從而發現了哺乳動物視覺朝向選擇性的一個新機制。回國之後,課題組已經:
1 利用數據時空分解方法研究大規模神經元網路的動力學性質並進行數據驅動式降維。
2. 套用數學降維方法,開拓分析光學成像數據的技術,發展預測神經元功能網路和功能連通性(functional connectivity)的算法。
3. 開展同時具有高空間解析度和高時間解析度的光學成像技術,研發線蟲行為及其神經環路同步成像的光學成像系統。
