金冬雁

金冬雁，美國微生物科學院院士，現任香港大學李嘉誠醫學院生物醫學學院教授、香港大學研究學院高級副院長、病毒學專家。

簡介

金教授是知名病毒學專家，研究領域是病毒與腫瘤分子生物學，他在病毒致病原理及病毒與宿主相互作用研究上在國際間取得多項開創性及突破性的成果。 金教授及其研究團隊發現細胞中負責偵緝病毒的蛋白 RIG-I需要另一種RNA結合蛋白PACT的輔助才能開啟並維持其抗病毒效應。他另一項研究亦揭示了可引致鼻咽癌的EB病毒，利用其本身表達的小RNA 分子，促進鼻咽癌細胞存活的原理。金教授融合生物化學與遺傳學的研究方法，從事分子病毒學與分子腫瘤學的基礎研究，不但探求新知，而且將其套用於人類疾病的預防和治療。

另外，金教授是多個國際學術期刊的編委，也是美洲華人生物科學學會會刊《細胞與生物科學》的副主編。 同時，他的研究項目得到國際及香港多個醫學基金和學會的支持。
