鄧子新,1957年出生,湖北房縣人,著名微生物學家,教授、博士生導師、中國科學院院士。1982年畢業於華中農業大學微生物專業,1987年獲英國East Anglia大學分子微生物學博士學位。
現任上海交通大學生命科學技術學院院長,武漢大學藥學院院長,武漢生物技術發展研究院院長。國際工業微生物遺傳學國際委員會主席。
