個人經歷
一、教育經歷
1.1984年—1988年,中國地質大學(武漢)地質系地層古生物專業,本科畢業並獲學士學位。
2.1988年—1991年,中國地質大學(武漢)研究生院沉積古地理專業,研究生畢業並獲碩士學位。
3.2000年—2004年,中國地質大學(武漢)研究生院地層古生物專業,博士畢業並獲博士學位。
二、研究工作經歷
1.1991年—至今,中國地質大學(武漢)研究生畢業,留校地球科學學院地層古生物教研室,中國地質大學地質過程與礦產資源國家重點實驗室,從事科學研究及教學工作,副主任,博導,三級教授。
2.2003年,1—7月,加拿大地質調查局(Geological Survey of Canada,Vancouver)訪問學者,師從國際三疊紀分會主席,國際知名牙形石專家Mike Orchard博士合作研究。

2.國家自然科學基金項目,華南晚二疊世至中三疊世牙形石原位鍶同位素分析及其在評價古海洋化學條件和陸地風化作用的套用。項目主持人。
3.國家自然科學基金項目,華南古、中生代之交牙形石原位氧同位素分析及其古氣候重建。項目主持人。
4.國家自然科學基金項目,華南古、中生代之交牙形石微區元素分析及其重大突變期的啟示。項目主持人。
5.國家自然科學基金項目,牙形石Neospathodus演化譜系研究及其高解析度微區原位分析。項目主持人。

(1)建立了華南二疊末期-早三疊世最為精細的海相生物地層格架,成為國際同期地層劃分和對比的對比標準,為探索生物與環境之間的關係提供了關鍵的時間框架和依據。
(2)率先提出以Neospathodus waageni eowaageniZhao的首現作為國際奧倫尼克階的底界劃分的新方案,並對界線地層特徵進行準確標定,這將為我國爭取全球印度階—奧倫尼克階界線的巢湖層型候選剖面作出了開創性貢獻,是我國地學研究可載入史冊的突破性進展( Zhao et al., 2007,;2008a , b);並獲2007年全國優秀博士論文提名獎(教研[2007]3號檔案)及湖北省優秀博士論文第一名(鄂學位{2005}19號)和國際三疊紀分會Albertiana(2004,Albertiana, 29: 41-43)封面文章。
(3)率先提出Neospathodus pingdingshanensisZhao的首現點作為國際Smithian-Spathian界線並對界線地層特徵進行準確標定,以及為Smithian-Spathian亞階界線的國際劃分標準提供參考( Zhao et al.,2007;2008a , b);獲2007年全國優秀博士論文提名獎(教研[2007]3號檔案)。
(4)國內率先套用牙形石微區原位元素分析研究,其成果分別發表在2013年Global and Planetary Change和2015年Earth-Science Reviews,為牙形石等殼體化石原位微量元素分析提供新的判別指標。通過我們的研究表明國際上過去諸多研究需要重新評估,也代表本研究方面已走向國際同類研究的領先水平。
