The king summoned legions of vets and warlocks and ordered them to try every means to make the falcon fly. But none of them succeeded. At last, when the king was in quandary, an idea struck his mind suddenly: maybe someone who was familiar with natural environment could tackle this problem. Therefore, he immediately sent for a farmer into his palace.
The next morning, the king saw the other falcon soaring above his gorgeous garden freely. Greatly excited, he asked the farmer, “How could you make it fly?”
農夫回道:“很簡單,那就是砍斷這隻鷹抓著的樹枝。”
The farmer replied, “It’s very easy. Just cut off the branch where the falcon rested.”
It is the same to human beings oftentimes. Our heart has two wings as well, but we often ignored them and stay where we are permanently for the sake of security and comfort. We tend to confine us to the things we already have all the time and therefore lose the ability to explore a more wonderful world. Not until the “branch” we are resting on breaks will we realize we can fly so high and freely.
