《語篇中的銜接和語篇主旨大意的關係》研究當前語言學熱門的課題之一：語篇中的銜接。《語篇中的銜接和語篇主旨大意的關係》包括四部分。第一部分回顧了這個課題的研究歷史，著重介紹了國內外研究此課題極具影響力的成果，並指出前人研究語篇中的辭彙銜接時側重分析辭彙個體的重複，目前尚未有著作在辭彙組合的視角下研究語篇中的銜接。第二部分拓展了Hoey（1991）創建的分析語篇中辭彙個體重複的方法論，將它和韓禮德的系統功能語法結合起來，一套分析小句核心組合（小句核心組合是由動作和其承載者組成）重複的方法論。第三部分套用此方法論分析英語新聞語篇，並詳細闡述了這套方法論所揭示的語篇中的銜接和語篇主旨大意之間關係的規律。第四部分概括總結了本研究成果並指出其廣闊的套用前景。
