Zhan Hang-lun, noted scholar in the field of Chinese literature and Literature theories. He was born in Hangzhou in December 1954, the native place is Rongxian. Zhan earned his B.A. at the Xihua Normal University in Sichuan in 1982, and his B.A. at Sichuan Normal University in 1985, and Ph.D. at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2000.
He Serve as now the professor and the supervisor of Ph.D. at Chinese literature and language department of China People University in Beijing from 2001, before joining the China People University, he taught at Sichuan Normal University from 1985 until 2000.
He was the visiting professor at the Chinese literature department of the national University in Singapore,the Chenggong University and Fengjia University in Taiwan.
His mainly study the field in the Chinese ancient literature, Chinese ancient literature theories and comparative literature.
Zhan is the author of ten books,including History of literature thought in Jin Dynasty (Chengdu,1990), Literary history of Jin Dynast (Taibei,1993), The Exegesis of Yuchun Fuhua(Taibei,1993), The Biography of Li Tiao-yuan (Chengdu,1997), A study on the theory of Fu of Qing Dynasty(Taibei, 2002), FangHui’s the knowledge of Space standard form of poetry of Tang and Sung Dynasty(Beijing, 2002), A explore on LvFu of Qing dynasty (2002), A study on the Academic of Fu in Tang and Sung Dynasty(Beijing, 2004, A explore on the Academic of Fu in Tang and Sung Dynasty(2005), James J.Y. Liu: Towards a Synthesis of Chinese and Western Theories of Literature (2005) etc.
