《英語專業畢業論文寫作》以實用為編寫宗旨，一切從實際出發。第一章介紹英語專業畢業論文寫作的基本知識，包括選擇論題、確定題目、收集資料、分析資料、擬訂參考書目、構思與擬訂論文提綱、擬稿、定稿、寫開題報告、論文答辨等。第二章分英美文學、翻譯理論與實踐、英語語言、語言與文化、英語教學法5個專題，分別介紹以這些領域為研究文向寫作畢業論文的思路和要領。寫作畢業論文，既要合乎畢業論文的規範，也需要講究一定的方法技巧，還需要相當的專業知識。一般高等院校的教材，尤其英美文學史、英美文學選讀和翻譯教科書所提供知識有限。針對這種現狀，我們分“文學”、“語言”、“翻譯”、“文化”和“教學法”5個專題，歸納這些研究領域的一些專業知識，並提供了一些論文題目和相關參考書目。《英語專業畢業論文寫作》提供的論文題目，寫作畢業論文的學生既可以從中選用，也可以參照這些題目的樣式與思路，擬訂更適合自己的論文題目，還可作練習寫作的題目使用。
