1989年赴美國俄克拉荷馬大學健康科學中心(The University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, Oklahoma City, OK, USA)進行博士後研究；1992年起在美國法瑪西亞普強制藥公司(Pharmacia & Upjohn, Inc., Kalamazoo, MI, USA)擔任研究科學家(Research Scientist)；1998年入選中科院百人計畫，擔任中科院上海細胞所（現為中科院上海生命科學研究院生物化學與細胞生物學研究所）研究員至今。主要從事血管生物學相關研究，主要涉及腫瘤、炎症和血栓等領域。已在《Nature》、《Nature Immunology》、《Cancer Cell》、《J Cell Biol》、《Blood》、《J Immunol》、《J Biol Chem》等國際生命科學核心期刊發表SCI引用論文近50篇，已申請或獲得了多項國內外專利。目前擔任國內期刊《Cell Research》、國外期刊《Cell Adhesion & Migration》的編委。獲得國家自然科學基金會傑出青年基金獎。香港求是基金會傑出青年科學家獎。

研究方向：細胞粘連與遷移
研究工作：研究領域集中在血管內皮細胞的結構和功能。具體涉及到炎症過程中白細胞和內皮細胞間的相互作用，血栓形成中血小板和內皮細胞間的相互作用，腫瘤生長和轉移中腫瘤細胞和內皮細胞間的相互作用。
