This book is written mainly based on Document 4444 (Air TrafficManagement) of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and somedocuments related to air traffic services published by Air Traffic ManagementBureau of China. It can be used for theoretical training and simulator trainingin the basic non-radar control course.
There are 7chapters in the book. Chapter 1 provides general rules and procedures which areuseful for non-radar control training; Chapter 2 describes ICAO separationstandards; Chapter 3 introduces the applicable separation minima in China;Chapter 4 presents the procedures and practices in departure and arrival phasesof flight; Chapter 5 shows the procedures and practices in the en route phaseof flight; Chapter 6 covers local rules and procedures for approach and areacontrol which will be used in the simulator training; Chapter 7 explains theprocedures and practices which will be followed when doing exercises in thenon-radar control simulator.
The book isintentionally written for training purpose, not for real world in air trafficcontrol. It contains rules and regulations which are mostly applicable inChina. By referring to the book, the trainer may apply different procedures andpractices which are actually applicable in the real world.
