Bob Staake, who grew up reading Golden Books, is a formerpolitical cartoonist, a highly successful commercial artist, andthe creator of several critically acclaimed books for children. Hehas illustrated several recent New Yorker<\/i> covers, and his2006 Golden Book, The Red Lemon<\/i>, was a New York Times<\/i>Best Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year. He lives on Cape Cod,Massachusetts.
