《環境科學與工程專業英語(第3版)》共分為八個部分(PART)。每個部分含若干個單元(Unit),共42個單元。每個單元由一篇課文和一篇閱讀材料組成,總計84篇。課文和閱讀材料均選自原版英文教科書、科技報告、著作、專業期刊、國際會議論文集等。其中第一部分1~4,介紹環境科學與工程概述和歷史;第二部分5~11,介紹大氣化學和空氣污染及其防治;第三部分12~19,介紹水污染來源種類、水化學、各種污水處理技術、處理單元設備等;第四部分20~23,為固體廢物及處理方法;第五部分24~27,介紹其他污染及控制技術;第六部分28~35,為環境管理,包括介紹環境影響及其評價、環境監控和分析及採樣程式、環境政策與策略;第七部分36~38,生態系統與生態群落,介紹環境生物與生態圈,環境生態學,生態與生命系統等;第八部分39~42,作為拓展,介紹綠色化學與技術,清潔生產,環境與可持續發展、清潔生產工藝及其綠色化學過程。每篇課文均配有與課文相對應的練習,主要以主觀練習題為主,包括閱讀與辭彙練習,英譯漢與漢譯英,用英語回答問題及寫出課文或某一段落的summary等。為便於學生自學,《環境科學與工程專業英語(第3版)》每課配有單詞和詞組表,並對課文的難點做必要的注釋,全書最後附有總辭彙表。
