1987-1992 華西醫科大學藥學院副教授

1992-2000 華西醫科大學藥學院教授，博士生導師，副院長，院長。

1.抗癌藥物及其多藥耐藥的化學和機理研究。

2.具抗癌活性的新的天然產物成分（生物鹼、萜類、甾體皂苷，尤其是國產烏頭屬和翠雀屬生物鹼）的分離、結構闡明及其合成；

3.天然產物化學在我國西南省區生物多樣性保護、經濟發展和藥物開發方面的研究
