1975年,王建玲從台灣大學數學系畢業,獲得學士學位。
1978年,從美國加州大學聖塔芭芭拉分校數學系畢業,獲得碩士學位。
1982年,從美國加州大學伯克利分校統計系畢業,獲得博士學位。
1982年—1984年,擔任美國愛荷華大學統計與精算科學系助理教授。
1984年—1987年,擔任美國加州大學戴維斯分校統計系助理教授。
1987年—1988年,擔任美國賓夕法尼亞大學沃頓商學院統計系副教授。
1988年—1993年,擔任美國加州大學戴維斯分校統計系副教授。
1993年—2013年,擔任美國加州大學戴維斯分校教授。
1999年—2003年,擔任美國加州大學戴維斯分校統計系系主任。
2007年—2019年,擔任美國加州大學戴維斯分校統計實驗室主任。
2013年,擔任美國加州大學戴維斯分校特聘教授。
2022年,當選為中國台灣“中央研究院”第33屆院士。
主要成就
科研成就
王建玲主要進行關於功能數據分析和大腦功能連線的研究。她領導的研究小組在功能數據分析方面開發了一個matlab軟體包PACE,並在此基礎上建立了一個基於R語言的軟體包fdapace,並不斷擴展和改進。此外,她領導的生存分析研究團隊開發了一個R軟體包JSM,用於處理生存和縱向數據的聯合建模。
