王寧寧，南開大學生命科學學院教授、博士生導師，教育部新世紀優秀人才，天津市作物遺傳育種重點學科學科帶頭人。1997年於南開大學獲博士學位，1999年至2000年於中國台灣中研院植物研究所進行博士後研究，師承美國科學院院士、1992年WOLF農學獎得主、時任台灣中研院副院長楊祥發先生。2003－2004年香港科技大學生物學系訪問學者。先後入選2002年度教育部“優秀青年教師資助計畫” 和2005年度教育部“新世紀優秀人才支持計畫”。現任中國植物生理學會常務理事、分子生物學專業委員會主任、植物衰老專業委員會委員；中國植物學會學術工作委員會委員、植物生理及分子生物學專業委員會委員；天津市植物學會理事；廣東省植物發育生物工程重點實驗室學術委員會委員；華南師範大學客座教授；《植物學報》、《植物生理學通訊》、《亞熱帶植物科學》編委等社會工作，是《Journal of Experimental Botany》、《中國科學》、《科學通報》等多種國內外重要學術期刊的審稿人。

長期從事有關植物衰老以及植物激素對植物生長發育調控的分子機理的研究工作，並致力於利用生物工程技術提高農作物的品質和產量。主持國家“863”、轉基因專項、國家自然科學基金重大/面上項目、教育部、天津市重點基金以及國際合作研究等多項科研任務，已在Plant Physiology、Plant Molecular Biology、Journal of Experimental Botany等國內外重要學術期刊發表論文60餘篇。所主持“植物分子生物學實驗室”與美國、澳大利亞、台灣地區、香港地區和國內多家科研院所建立了緊密的合作關係。王寧寧教授
