研究興趣與成果
近幾年來主要的研究興趣之一是與邊界有關的物理現象，特別是邊界態的起源與其性質。在起源方面，我們的工作已經證明邊界態的發生與對稱性有關，特別是鏡像對稱的破壞是邊界態發生的必要條件，更進一步的，邊界態的發生可說是超對稱的展示。凝聚態物理中有許多有趣的現象與邊界態相關，除了高溫超導體以45度與金屬相接在穿隧能譜展現的零能量峰外，在石墨邊界上也可能因此造成磁性，在奈米材料中，邊界態的發生更是一個重要的課題，這些都是我目前感興趣且繼續研究的課題。
另外一個研究重點則是在蛋白質摺疊問題上，我們提出一包括水分子作用、能有效摺疊蛋白質且沒有偏好的位能。除了氫鍵外，我們指出電偶極的互動作用及胺基酸的局部親水厭水性是摺疊蛋白質另外兩個重要的互動作用。我們提出的位能能有效而快速的摺疊非合成的免疫球蛋白，此蛋白質有56個胺基酸，並且在文獻上從未成功地被摺疊過，而所提出的位能不僅能成功有效的摺疊它，並且所花的時間在普通PC上只要幾個小時，除此之外，它還成功的摺疊其他16種不同的蛋白質，對蛋白質摺疊問題提出一條解決的途徑。
