焦磷酸酶

焦磷酸酶是作用於雙磷酸鍵上的酸酐水解酶。是一種催化一分子焦磷酸鹽轉化為兩分子磷酸鹽離子的酶。

分子反應

無機焦磷酸酶（英語：Inorganic Pyrophosphatase，簡稱為焦磷酸酶）是一種催化一分子焦磷酸鹽轉化為兩分子磷酸鹽離子的酶。這是一個高放能的反應，因此此反應可偶聯到一些熱力學上不利的轉化，以便驅動這些轉化進行到完全。

功能

此酶的功能乃是在脂代謝（包括脂合成與分解）、鈣吸收以及骨形成和DNA合成中扮演重要角色，其他生物化學轉化也是如此。
