烏比·戈德堡（Whoopi Goldberg），1955年11月13日生於曼哈頓的切爾西區，美國演員。
8歲時即在紐約的兒童劇團演出。曾在紐約戲劇高中學習，畢業後搬遷移到加州作職業的舞台劇演員。起初在一家殯葬服務公司上班，後來在百老匯打雜工時還當過磚匠。移居加州後和“自燃”等團體進行過合作，以喜劇演員的身份磨練演技。為HBO拍一個專題片時，開始引起外界關注。以演出內容豐富多彩著稱於世，前後結過3次婚，曾經沉迷於毒品。

演藝經歷
一鳴驚人
1983年開始在百老匯表演單口相聲，還得過獎，這可以解釋了為什麼她日後主持奧斯卡頒獎禮會如此瀟灑。
1985年擔綱主演《紫色》(The Color Purple)，獲得影評界諸多讚譽，並因此獲奧斯卡提名，從此成為好萊塢著名女星。
20世紀80年代後期，參加了幾部公式化喜劇片的拍攝，如《夜賊》(Burglar)、《東西戰爭》(Jumpin' Jack Flash)等。
東山再起
1990年，烏比·戈德堡參拍後來票房收入驚人的《人鬼情未了》(Ghost)一片，捧得一座奧斯卡最佳女配角獎盃，成為家喻戶曉的好萊塢明星。90年代初期，烏比的演藝事業達到了她一生的巔峰。作為1967年老電影《星際迷航記》(Star Trek)的鐵桿影迷，她深感榮幸地接拍了《星際迷航記之新一代》(Star Trek: The Next Generation)一片。
