1. 功能塗層和薄膜製備技術與可靠性研究: 開發低摩擦耐磨損塗層、抗冷焊塗層、耐高溫抗氧化塗層、耐蝕耐熱塗層、密封塗層、納米複合超硬塗層、環境障礙塗層、熱障塗層等;
2. 環境適應型先進摩擦材料的設計與製備技術: 金屬基減摩抗磨材料、高溫陶瓷基自潤滑複合材料、聚合物基自潤滑耐磨材料、功能潤滑與密封材料、新炭素材料;
3. 環境摩擦學行為研究: 苛刻條件下抗磨損材料及其摩擦學、 空間摩擦學、摩擦材料的環境行為;
4. 摩擦潤滑的物理與化學、材料磨損失效與摩擦學表面工程設計;
5. 材料先進制造與多功能混合快速成型新技術。
