交通安全和交通規劃領域國際知名專家。研究方向為交通安全, 交通規劃, 交通運營與設計,交通大數據和智慧型交通系統。長期從事交通系統安全分析方面的研究,主持或承擔美國和韓國政府資助的科研課題20餘項,其中包括美國佛羅里達州交通部項目3項,美國聯邦交通部大學交通中心項目3項、韓國政府或研究機構資助項目10項,以及美國國家契約公路研究計畫項目1項。在國際學術會議和期刊發表論文104餘篇, SCI/SSCI/EI檢索100餘篇;谷歌學者引用次數:3583,h指數:35,i-10指數:75 (2022.03.25);並受邀參加美國等十餘個國家舉辦的高級別國際學術會議,宣講會議論文100餘次。
