教育及工作經歷：
1984年至1988年武漢大學細胞生物學，本科。
1988年至1991年武漢大學細胞生物學，碩士。
1991年至今華中農業大學土化系，生命科學技術學院歷任講師，副教授，教授，博士生導師。
1997年至2000年華中農業大學微生物學，博士。
2001年至2002年在荷蘭瓦赫寧根大學從事訪問研究。
2002年至2005年在英國University of East Anglia從事博士後研究。
社會任職：
1、湖北省生物工程學會理事。
2、中國微生物學會農業微生物學專業委員會委員。

研究方向
根瘤菌共生固氮體系的分子機理與套用
利用華癸根瘤菌-紫雲英特色模式體系，研究共生雙方調控類菌體分化、固氮及衰老的互作機制
開展大豆根瘤菌固氮及菌植互作研究，為增強競爭結瘤、提高固氮效率和大豆固氮育種提供科學依據
進行大豆和紫雲英根瘤菌的遺傳改良、整合利用PGPR、微量元素、激素等，建立與我國土壤及豆科宿主匹配的複合根瘤菌製劑套用技術
