作為一名優秀的青年教授,曹廷炳同志始終兢兢業業、任勞任怨地工作在教學和科研第一線,並於2008年9月入選教育部新世紀優秀人才支持計畫。在教書育人方面,曹廷炳教授勤勤懇懇、誨人不倦,培養出一批優秀的本科生和研究生,他帶領的科研課題組所培養出的多名畢業生赴美國史丹福大學等知名海外高等學府深造。在學術研究方面,曹廷炳教授在高分子化學與物理研究、特別是在非傳統方法製備微納米功能高分子結構與器件等方面做出了突出成就,是活躍在相關研究領域不可多得的一名優秀青年科學家;他對功能高分子的微納米圖案化進行了系統研究,在國內開闢了駐極體在化學領域套用的新方向,並在非傳統微納米圖案化加工等領域取得了一系列原創性科研成果,在Angewandte Chemie International Edition、Advanced Materials等國際頂級期刊上面發表了40餘篇高水平學術論文。
