《新編實用英語學學練練考考1(北京版)》內容簡介為：《新編實用英語》系列教材是由教育部“高職高專教育英語課程教學指導委員會”根據《高職高專教育英語課程教學基本要求(試行)》組織編寫的。《新編實用英語》（北京版）系列教材是在《新編實用英語》（第二版）的基礎上修訂而成。本套教材認真貫徹了“學一點、會一點、用一點”、“聽、說、讀、寫、譯並重”和“邊學邊用、學用結合”的原則。注重聽說技能訓練，注重對實用文體閱讀能力的培養，將套用語言基本功的能力與實際涉外交際相結合。
本套教材還注重“教、學、考”相互照應。學完第2冊可參加“高等學校套用能力考試”的B級考試，學完第3冊成績優秀者可參加A級考試。
