1994年7月進入中山大學高分子研究所做博士後研究,後留該所任教至今,先後任副教授(1996–2000)、教授(2002–)、博士生導師(2003–),並先後擔任研究室主任(1997–1998)、副所長(1998–2000;2005–)、所教工黨支部書記(1999–2004)、高分子化學與物理國家重點學科建設協調小組成員(2003–)、化學與化學工程學院科技工作領導小組成員(2004–)等職;2001–2002年應邀在美國紐約州立大學Stony Brook分校從事Research Support Specialist工作。曾獲中山大學“馬應彪獎教金獎”(2000)、中山大學優秀共產黨員稱號(2000,2005),並先後入選教育部“高等學校骨幹教師資助計畫”(1999)、廣東省“高等學校千百十人才工程培養計畫”(2001)和教育部“新世紀優秀人才支持計畫”(2004)。應邀擔任《中國組織工程研究與臨床康復》雜誌執行編委、《石油學報(石油加工)》、《纖維素科學與技術》《廣州化學》(1999-2000)和國外《Trends in Applied Sciences Research》、《Journal of Applied Sciences》雜誌編委、以及近20種國際學術雜誌和10餘種國內學術刊物審稿人。兼任廣東省石油學會常務理事、廣東省石油煉製化工專業和石油鑽采專業委員會委員、廣東省人體生物組織工程學會理事、廣東省生物醫學工程學會生物材料專業委員會委員、廣州市化工學會高分子專業委員會委員和廣東省博士後聯誼理事會副秘書長(1995–2000)、《高分子通報》雜誌編委、《中國組織工程研究與臨床康復》雜誌執行編委、《Trends in Applied Sciences Research》雜誌編委、《Journal of Applied Sciences》雜誌編委。作為課題負責人,已先後承擔各類科研課題近30項,在國內外學術刊物上發表論文100餘篇,申請中國發明專利8項,主持完成的部分研究成果獲廣東省自然科學獎三等獎(2003)。講授研究生課程《高分子特性與複合材料》、《高分子科學進展》、《聚合物流變學》、《化學進展前沿》和本科生課程《高分子與環境保護》,先後指導博士後3名、博士生11名和碩士生20多名。
