本片是1987年推出的喜劇片《神氣活現》的續集。某個雨夜，編劇愛德華·羅葛夫和友人麥克·柯提正走在紐約第五大道上，突然麥克停下了腳步，告訴愛德華他好像看見剛剛經過的商店櫥窗里有個模特兒移動了。於是，愛德華和麥克共同完成了《神氣活現》的電影劇本，敘述一位在百貨公司工作的年輕人和一個櫥窗模特兒的神話愛情故事，由麥克擔任此片的導演，影片在世界各地創下了極為理想的票房成績。1991年，愛德華與麥克又創作了續集劇本，導演由斯圖爾特·拉斐爾擔任，故事情節也完全獨立成章，但基本構思仍然延續了第一集的創意。

內容簡介
著魔的農家女一千年後復活，與酷似王子的大學生墜入愛河……
一千年後，也就是1990年，該國的史派茲伯爵在三位健壯如牛的保鏢陪伴下，帶著一批他們國家最珍貴的象徵派雕像抵達費城，準備在王子百貨公司展覽，傑西也是其中的展品之一。
在王子百貨公司打工的大學生傑森·威廉森無意中取下傑西的項鍊後，傑西活了，而且與形貌酷似威廉王子的傑森墜入愛河。但是，傑西的國家不能失去他們的國寶，於是命令史派茲伯爵一定要把傑西弄回家鄉，一場妙趣橫生的追逐戰就此展開。而傑西面對完全陌生的現代生活，也鬧出了不少笑話。大學生傑森為了贏得傑西的愛情，橫遭母親的誤解和警方的追捕。最後，這對有情人幾經波折，終成眷屬。
