2018年1月，任中原工學院副院長。
2020年4月，任鶴壁職業技術學院黨委書記。
2022年3月，任河南開放大學校長。

研究方向
孫斌主要研究方向為：材料表面與界面、納米材料與技術。獲得“河南省科技進步獎”2項，獲得“紡織之光”中國紡織工業聯合會教師獎，河南省教育廳學術技術帶頭人等榮譽稱號。在Physics Review E，Electrochim．Acta，Surface& Coating Technology，Cryst．Res．Technol．等國際學術期刊發表SCI收錄的論文20餘篇，在國內發表學術論文40餘篇。
