講授本科生課程——園藝科學(雙語教學)、園藝植物有機栽培、植物的微生物伴侶;碩士生課程——果樹學文獻綜述與專題討論、高級果樹栽培學、果樹生理學;博士生課程——園藝學前沿理論與方法。2001年獲華南農業大學“陳勵文獎教金”,2003年獲華南農業大學“教書育人一等獎”,副主編面向21世紀教材《果樹栽培學各論(南方本)》。
目前的研究重點是果樹的礦質營養生理與生草栽培、叢枝菌根生物學及其在園藝植物上的套用。先後主持和參加5項國家自然科學基金,1項“973”計畫前期研究專項,2項公益性行業(農業)科研專項以及8項省、部級科研項目。在Soil Biology & Biochemistry,Plant & Soil,Scientia Horticulturae,園藝學報,微生物學報,生態學報等國內外刊物上發表論文60多篇。
