2001年畢業於北京師範大學，獲得生物化學專業學士學位。同年進入清華大學生物科學與技術系攻讀博士學位，於2006年獲得生物物理專業博士學位。在2007年4月加入美國Scripps研究所Ray Stevens博士的研究小組，開始博士後研究工作。2011 年入選中國科學院“百人計畫”，現任上海藥物研究所研究員。上海市第十五屆人民代表大會代表。
2018年11月，獲頒何梁何利基金科學與技術獎“青年創新獎”。
