學術成就
古德曼教授自1980年代以來，先後出版專著 Centre and Province in the People’s Republic of China（1986），Deng Xiaoping and the Chinese Revolution: A Political Biography（1994），Social and Political Change in Revolutionary China: The Taihang Base Area in the War of Resistance to Japan, 1937-1945 （2000），China’s Campaign to ‘Open Up the West’: National, Provincial and Local Perspectives（2004），The New Rich in China: Future Rulers, Present Lives (2008)，Twentieth Century Colonialism in China (2012), China’s Peasants and Workers (2012), Middle Class China (2013) 並主編了多部論著。另外古德曼教授在Journal of Contemporary China、The China Quarterly、Journal of Current Chinese Affairs等學術期刊上發表數十篇論文。
海外名師
2012年，古德曼教授獲選成為中華人民共和國教育部聘請的“海外名師”，將在未來4年內與南京大學、山西大學和西北師範大學進行緊密的教學、科研、學科建設等多方面合作。
