人物經歷
劉選明，湖南邵陽人，1963年生，教授，博士生導師。1986年於湖南師範大學獲理學學士學位，1989年與1995年於湖南農業大學分別獲理學碩士和博士學位，1998年與2000年分別在湖南農業大學和中國科學院北京植物研究所完成博士後研究和高級訪問研究。工作以來先後到美國加州大學洛杉磯分校和菲律賓國際水稻研究所進行高級訪問研究和學習。1989年至2000年在湖南農業大學先後任助教、講師、副教授、教授與博士生導師，以及植物教研室主任、生物技術系主任和理學院副院長。2001年調至湖南大學任教授、博士生導師，先後任生命科學與技術研究院常務副院長、生命科學中心主任、生物能源與材料研究中心副主任和生物學院副院長。湖南農業大學兼職教授，博士生導師。

植物功能基因組學、植物發育分子生物學、生化分析、細胞與基因工程技術、生物質再生能源等。

成果榮譽
1996年獲得湖南省首屆中青年科學基金（傑出青年基金），1998年遴選為湖南省跨世紀科學與技術學科帶頭人，1999年被遴選為國家“百千萬人才工程”國家級人選，2004年評為享受國務院政府特殊津貼專家，2005年任全國生物科學與生物工程教學指導委員會委員，2009年聘為湖南省政府學位委員會第四屆學科評議組人員。此外，1999年起擔任湖南省植物學會副理事長，2009年擔任湖南省生物化學與分子生物學學會理事。兼任農業部麻類遺傳育種與微生物工程重點實驗室、國家林業局森林栽培與育種重點實驗室、湖南省中藥新藥研究與開發等多個重點實驗室學術委員。
