介詞短語，是介詞和其它代詞或名詞或詞組搭配形成的短語。口語上簡稱“介短”。該短語主要是用來表示詞與詞， 詞與句之間的關係。

介詞(Prepositions)是一種用來表示詞與詞, 詞與句之間的關係的詞。在句中不能單獨作句子成分。介詞後面一般有名詞代詞或相當於名詞的其他詞類，短語或從句作它的賓語。介詞與它的賓語構成介詞詞組，在句中作狀語，表語，補語，定語。
用處介紹
at (1)表示在小的範圍內; (2)表示“在……附近、旁邊” (3)後面跟具體時間，例如：I get up at 6：00
in (1)表示在大的範圍內; (2)表示“在…範圍之內”。 (3)In+the+地點，例如：In the table
on 表示毗鄰，接壤
to 表示在……範圍外，不強調是否接壤
He arrived at the station at ten：他十點到達了車站
He is sitting at the desk：他坐在桌子上
He arrived in Shanghai yesterday：他昨天到達上海
Jiangsu lies in the east of China：江蘇位於中國的東部
Russia live on the north of China：俄羅斯在中國的北部

值得指出的是：當介詞短語作表語時，它可以用來表示正在進行的動作（或存在的狀態），有時還能起到一定的修辭作用。著名英語專家周海中先生1981年在《介詞短語的一個用法》一文中首先介紹了這一特殊用法，從而引起了人們對它的關注和研究。現分別舉例說明：
1.介詞after

3.介詞in
