《呂氏春秋·遇合》。“人有大臭者，其親戚兄弟妻妾，知識無能與居者，自苦而居海上。海上人有說其臭者，晝夜隨之而弗能去。”

有個身上發臭味的人，以致他的親戚、兄弟、妻妾、相識的人，都不願和他一起生活和交往 。他自己苦惱已極，遠離親友，遷到海濱居住。海濱卻有一個人非常喜歡他身上的臭味，晝夜跟隨著他，一步也捨不得離開。
CHASING AFTER THE SMELL
There was a very foul-smelling person. Not one of his paternal or maternal relatives by blood or marriage，his elder or younger brothers， his principal wife，concubines，or acquaintances was able to live together with him. He himself was distressed by this and so went to live by the seashore. There were people at the seashore who liked his smell； they followed him day and night.
