作者簡介
吳菁，is a native of Beijing. She graduated from the Art History Department of Century Academy of Arts & Design (now The Fine Arts School of Tsinghua University) in 1989. Now, she works as an associate professor in the Institute of Arts & Design of Beijing Polytechnic University. She has published articles on "People's Daily (Overseas Edition)". She is one of the editors of
"Chinese traditional handicrafts - gold and silver filament technology and cloisonne" which was awarded The First Excellent Publications (books) Award of China.

序言
Both Chinese and Western paintings have a wide range of contents. The book aims to help readers gain an understanding of the Chinese painting and the cultural content that lies behind the Chinese painting. However, limited by the length of writing, the author focuses on the traditional Chinese paintings and European paintings in the 19th century and before.
The fundamental difference between western and traditional Chinese paintings is the one between focus and scattered-points perspective. This author compares the two kinds of paintings in a scattered-points way according to a Chinese scattered-points perspective.
