中國社會科學院的中國海外投資國家風險評級體系（CROIC）從中國企業和主權財富的海外投資視角出發，構建了經濟基礎、償債能力、社會彈性、政治風險、對華關係五大指標共42個子指標，通過大量數據量化評估了中國企業在海外投資方面面臨的風險。2019年評級報告共包含57個國家，2020年評級將其擴充至114個國家。新增的57個國家包括14個已開發國家和43個開發中國家，涉及亞洲、歐洲、非洲、南美等地區。特別分析了2020年中國海外投資“一帶一路”沿線國家風險評級結果。本評級體系試圖通過提供風險警示，為企業提高海外投資成功率提供參考。
