這首E調歌曲充滿了德克薩斯搖滾味道，被無數同樣以Blues為基礎的搖滾及重金屬樂手翻彈。這首歌的Intro部分的Riff被Slash在一次巡迴演唱會中作為Civil War的前奏帶起樂句動機，進入主曲部分； 另外還有Stevie Ray Vaughan在80年代的演唱；及The Byrds與Bob Dylan在60年代的版本；G3（Steve Vai, Joe Satriani,Yngwie Malmsteen）也在演唱會上翻唱過；電影《黑鷹墜落》里也有這首歌作為插曲。 “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”是最受藝術家們關注的Hendrix歌曲，他們總會在翻唱中融入他們的個人情懷。在權威搖滾、吉他雜誌排名中“Guitar 100 solos”第11、“滾石500”第101、不過每個人心裡都有自己的排名。
