由英國搖滾樂隊MUSE2009年9月14日發行專輯《The Resistance》其中一首歌曲。萬眾期待的Muse新磚的發布時間日益臨近了，之前Muse在Twitter上每小時發布一首曲目列表，更是吊足了胃口。新磚的首單Uprising原計畫20日晚7點在BBC首播，並在MTV Video Music大獎上首演，不過最後播出的是United States of Eurasia。首單Uprising將改在8月3日在BBC Radio1上播出。

首個被播出的單曲United States of Eurasia馬上有了RadioRip版，不過第二天該曲目就有了數字下載，3:44的曲目過後是一個名為“Collateral Damage”的鋼琴奏鳴曲，是根據蕭邦長音降E大調Op.9 No.2的夜曲改編。
儘管該單曲被認為是首播主打，可是Muse卻稱Uprising才是，而USE是作為一個“尋寶”活動的獎勵，並設立了一個網頁“Ununited States of Eurasia”，而到了20日這首歌被分成的6個片段都被歌迷們解鎖了，這個網站馬上就把標題從“Ununited”改為了“United”，並惡搞了一個橫幅“USE已經得到USA的承認。”
首單Uprising在9月7日發行，也是專輯The Resistance的開場曲目。預先發行的音樂雜誌Mojo稱這首曲子裡，樂隊成員們如同高唱足球隊歌那樣伴隨著鼓點喊著“加油”（"Oi"），Matthew Bellamy稱這是在對信貸危機表示不滿。而預發行的發過雜誌JudeBox描述道，“Matt的聲音比以往來得低沉。而歌詞還是一如既往的Muse風格：充滿了隱喻。Matt在曲中宣布道“They will not control us, we will be the victorious。”，配合上伴隨這句副歌的電子合成效果，顯得十分有力。歌曲的整體架構十分清晰。”這首歌在8月3日全球各大電台首播，可是由於時差的關係，在紐西蘭播出的時候就已經出現radiorip版本了。
值得一提的是，在預發行的NME雜誌的評論中，Exogenesis作為專輯的亮點，被高度評價為“Muse最高調的，超過之前所有的作品。”同時透露該曲目將由Bellamy演奏古典鋼琴，並且有完整的管弦樂團做支持。法國的JudeBox將Bellamy和Radiohead的Thom Yorke的唱功做了一番比較，並指出這首搖滾交響作品是受到蕭邦（Frédéric Chopin）以及李斯特（Franz Liszt）的影響。Mojo則稱Muse的該曲目動用了40人的管弦樂團。這首歌將由3個部分構成，分別題為“序曲”（Overture）“Cross Pollination”以及“Redemption”。
