In this paragraph, I fount this sentence” viewed as … well … showoffs” is so strange and I also don’t know the mean about this sentence. And I don’t like this sentence that “we know he’s right, he must be right”, I think that to spare. In my opinion, this article isn’t good. The author write so long but at last she said that “let’s try to forgive each other for showing off.” I hate the author’s hypocritical.
I very enjoy the words about Lord Chesterfield said that” Modesty is the only sure bait when you angle for praise.” It’s like a Chinese famous saying that” modest made you go ahead” The Chinese always very modesty It’s very difference about westerner. The westerner is very showoff. Over modesty and the over showing off is a wrong behavior to be sure. If this person can neutralize each other, I think they will have a cheerful human life.
