Leonard Cohen（萊昂納德·科恩），1934年生人，是游吟詩人，來自寒冷而富有濃厚歐洲氣息的加拿大小城蒙特婁，英國文學是他的專業。早年以詩歌和小說在文壇成名，小說《美麗失落者》被評論家譽為60年代的經典之作。很偶然的機緣將他帶入民謠流域，在Judy Collins將他的詩作配上簡單的和弦，開始游吟生涯。他先後出版了《萊昂納德·科恩之歌（The Songs of Leonard Cohen）》和《來自一個房間的歌（Songs from a Room）》等專輯。2010年1月31日，他獲得第52屆格萊美音樂獎終身成就獎。很多人都說Cohen首先是個詩人，然後才是歌手。 然而，誰能抗拒他那要死不活自憐低沉的嗓音呢。他的詞即使脫離旋律，仍然有深邃動人的力量。
