Brett所扮演的角色中，最著名的是ABC台的長壽電視劇《one life to live》中的醫學生Kyle Lewis。在2010年，他成為了美國最受關注的演員之一。他獲得了公眾的關注，當然，還有一項GLAAD的獎項。
Brett在很小的時候就開始學習表演了，並在他的家鄉Greensboro的兒童劇院中開始了他的表演生涯。在上大學前，他一直都在學習表演的技巧。他就讀於北卡羅來納州立大學，學習了表演與建築。
