Light melancholy and sleepy summer days in Lisbon, in a piece of elegant and romantic auto-fiction.Miguel Nunes's evocative short film starts with an open ending and ends with a picnic in one of Lisbon's parks. In between, he reconstructs scenes from the summer holidays that lead uhim to the airport with a ticket to New York in his pocket. 'You See the Moon' is a romantic and slightly melancholy piece of auto-fiction, with Miguel himself in the lead role. He falls in love with a man who leaves him behind with a longing in his heart. The summer nights are spent drinking red wine and in the company of good friends on a rooftop, with a view of the moon and the Portuguese capital. The episodes have the character of fleeting memories, and it is precisely in the empty spaces that a sensual story comes into being with our own active participation. One already looks forward to seeing Nunes's next film and it is hard not to hope that it continues in New York with a reunion with last summer's great romance. Shot on 16mm and with a phenomenal feel for the atmosphere of the Portuguese summer. Screening with 'House of Furies' and 'The Dream of Lady Hamtilton'.
