Thomas Anthony "Tomie A." dePaola (born September 15, 1934), is an American author and illustrator of over 200 children's books, including Caldecott Honor book Strega Nona and Newbery Honor book 26 Fairmount Avenue.DePaola was awarded the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal in 2011.
狄波拉，1934年出生於美國康乃狄克洲，1956年畢業於布雷克美術學校，開始投入創作圖畫書的行列。經過六年的時間，才真正得到出版社的賞識，有機會為自己和其他作家畫插圖。35歲他從加州美術工藝學院拿到碩士學位，次年又在朗山學院得到相當於博士的學位。在藝術學院執教數年後，即放棄教職，專心奉獻於兒童文學。狄波拉的作品非常豐富，且倍受孩子歡迎；他的作品曾獲頒凱迪克（Caldecott）等大獎，他個人也在1990年獲得安徒生獎的提名。
