以前的介紹有誤，從專輯名可以看出均為聖本篤教團僧侶的吟唱歌曲，更加純粹的格里高利聖詠。網上的評價卻是褒貶不一。
Such Beautiful Music
Picture yourself in a millenium-old church where the monks walk slowly down the gray-bricked corridors and sing in Latin. This is exactly the same except without having to travel to Rome or the Vatican. To me, nothing could be more beautiful or more relaxing than this music. Even if you are not religious, this chanting calms and soothes. I highly recommend this CD.
You can do much better than this CD
The only reason I gave this CD one star is because you cannot rate a CD with zero stars. I would not recommend this CD at all. First, several songs are not really Gregorian Plainchant. They will start out with chant and go into a strange polyphony. But the worst thing about this CD is that it is of a horrible recording quality. It sounds like the monks are singing into a microphone through a fan. Some of the songs they dont even finish, the recording just fades out. It is extremely low quality and I would highly recommend other recordings such as the monks of Santo Domingo de Silos or the monks of Solesmes. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CD! This is not a good example of Gregorian Chant.
Good for the soul
Whether you are a believer or not. This album provides a calm and peaceful feeling. Its the stuff you listen to when its dark and you want to feel guarded by something. The sound of the collective voices fills the air. You dont feel like youre at church, but you feel like youre somewhere special. Ive always been fascinated by the experience of Church, especially old latin chants. Its solemn, strong and lovely. I recommend it for anyone who wants a different musical experience.
