Streets of London

經典民歌“Streets of London”是英國歌手拉爾富·麥可泰爾（Ralph McTell）1969年的作品，首次收錄在他的第二張個人專輯《Spiral Staircase》中。“Streets of London”是Ralph畢生最具有代表性的經典，翻唱的人至少超過兩百位，比如資深英國老牌歌手羅傑.惠特克（Roger Whittaker），布魯斯·斯普林斯汀（Bruce Springsteen）與艾瑞莎.富蘭克林（Aretha Franklin），以及亞洲演藝界殿堂級巨星張國榮（Leslie Cheung）等等。

創作背景

1969年，他在第二張個人專輯《Spiral Staircase》裡面發表了自己譜寫的“Streets of London”，不過當時並未受到重視，後來，他在1974年底重新錄製這首歌，結果奪下英國排行亞軍，就此成名。

在德國，這首歌創下同時有四個版本在排行榜上的情形（他自己的版本就占了三個）。受到極高的評價，幾乎相當於「英國的鮑布狄倫（Bob Dylan）」，成為英國、歐洲、甚至美國許多民歌手學習的榜樣，

“Streets of London”更是他畢生最具有代表性的經典，翻唱的人至少超過兩百位，比如資深英國老牌歌手羅傑.惠特克（Roger Whittaker），布魯斯·斯普林斯汀（Bruce Springsteen），Sinead O'Connor（西尼德·瑪麗·伯納黛特·奧康娜）與艾瑞莎.富蘭克林（Aretha Franklin）等等。

譜寫這首歌的時候才二十四歲的麥可泰爾，是根據自己流浪多年的經歷，以及在倫敦賣唱民歌的感受，而激發靈感的。這正是他想對一些自怨自艾、認為自己孤獨寂寞的人說的話。
